The Story

How it all started & why it matters

Hey! It’s me, Zoey.

Hi! I’m Zoey Watson.

I started Writing Club for Writers because I spent a lot of my life feeling like I didn’t belong—especially when it came to writing. I’d stare at a blank page for hours, convinced I wasn’t smart enough or talented enough to say anything worth reading. I was the quiet, sensitive kid who didn’t fit in with the loud, confident people who seemed to have it all figured out. Writing felt like a thing other people did, but not me. I thought I had to be perfect to write, but I was wrong.

Then one day, I ended up in a tiny cabin by myself, with nothing but trees and a notebook. I had no distractions, and no one to impress. I started writing—no rules, no “right way” to do it. It was messy, it was awkward, but it felt… real. That’s when I realized writing doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to be yours. I still don’t have it all figured out, but now I write with that freedom, and I want to help you do the same. Writing Club for Writers is for people who’ve been told they don’t belong or that their voice doesn’t matter. Because it does.
