When I first started writing, I thought there was only one “right” way to do it. I’d sit with a pen, cross things out, rewrite sentences, and still feel like I wasn’t getting it “right.” The more I tried to make my writing perfect, the harder it got. Instead of flowing, my words felt stuck. And, honestly? So did I.

letting go of the rules
One day, I decided to try something different. Instead of trying to write perfectly, I let myself write whatever came to mind. Messy sentences, half-finished thoughts, words I’d never share with anyone—everything went onto the page without a filter. It wasn’t “good” writing, but it was real. And for the first time, writing felt… easy. Liberating, even.

That’s why I created Writing Club for Writers. I wanted a space where anyone—especially those who feel shy, anxious, or like they don’t fit into the writing world—can come and write without judgment or pressure. Here, we write to connect with ourselves, not to impress others.

Your Turn to Write Freely
So, if you’re feeling stuck, try letting go of the rules and see what happens. Write what feels real to you. You might be surprised by what shows up on the page.
